Stitchery | |
Stitchery is embroidery where only the outlijnes are stitched, so is for instance Redwork also a stitchery.
- A Stitchery can be made on a fine muslin or on a patchwork fabric with a not to intence pattern.
- If you want an old look, you can paint the fabric in advance with tee or coffie, or afterwards with Distress It.
- There are two ways to get the pattern on the fabric:
- Use a light box to draw the pattern on the fabric.
- If you have no ligth box use the window on a sunny day.
- Draw the pattern with a Pigmapen .01, use lines for the backs titch and dashed lines for the running stitch.
- Use a thin fillingon the backside of the stitchery, this will give a nice accent on the threads and will cover the thread ends.
- Work in a Hoop-La ring and use one or more colors floss to create your stitchery. use 1 or 2 strands of embroidery floss. It is nice to use also other stitches like the buttonhole stitch or chain stitch.
